Leddy & Slack accepts special commissions from museums, historic sites, re-enactor groups, and interested individuals. In the past, we have created particular regiments and specific historical figures for our clients.
Our
minimum order for a special commission is 12 pieces (wholesale). This
low mimimum is based on Leddy & Slack retaining the rights to
produce the piece for our other retail outlets and mail order customers. Our low minimum order requirement provides an opportunity for smaller museums and historic sites to create a distinctive souvenir which would otherwise be cost-prohibitive.
For
a special commission, we offer the customer final approval of each step
in the process, from sculpting to packaging. For museums and historic sites, a 50% deposit is required upon approval of the first cast and the balance is invoiced with delivery of the full order. For reenactor groups and individuals, 50% is required at the time of commission, with the balance due upon delivery. Special box labels can be
created for your organization or group at no extra charge. We also offer cross-marketing opportunities such as website link exchange, as well as direct mail and brochure distribution to our existing clientele. Please allow approximately 2 months for your project from start to finish.
Our newest special commission is Major-General Edward Hand, created in 2010 for Rock Ford Plantation, the general's home in Lancaster, PA. The figure is based on several contemporary portraits owned by the Rock Ford Foundation, which operates the historic home as a museum.
The 3225th Quartermaster Company, an African-American unit serving in the European Theatre during World War II, was created for the retired colonel of the regiment for display and commemorative purposes, and the figure is now available for sale to the general public through Leddy & Slack.

New in April 2009, by special commission to the Lexington Historical Society, is an adversarial pair representing a Grenadier of the British 10th Regiment of Foot (shown below) and a Minuteman of the Massachusetts Militia, Lexington Company.
